We prioritise the integrity and safety of our products by maintaining a secure cold chain throughout the entire distribution process, including the meticulous SKIN and CRYOVAC® packaging techniques. This ensures that, although being a frozen product, our “freshly frozen” lamb remains “like fresh”, preserving its taste, texture, and nutritional value. All of our lambs are born at LANDRANI®, located outside Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo. Oudtshoorn is renowned for its production of Ostrich meat products, which are exported worldwide. Our lambs are housed in 5-star facilities and raised in an unparalleled ethical manner. Our automated and patented feeding systems ensure the best possible milk production for the ewe and exceptional growth for the lamb. These feeding practices allow the lambs to start eating at a much younger age. Once weaned, the lambs enter our automated feedlot feeding system and enjoy top-quality feed until they are market ready. Our lambs consume approximately 25% more feed per day than the daily industry feed intake. They do so voluntarily, and we can only attribute it to their feed always being tasty, fresh, and available to them 24/7. As a result of the higher feed intake, our lambs are market ready earlier than those in manual feeding feedlots, resulting in impeccable tenderness and taste.2. We strictly adhere to a no-antibiotic policy unless an animal sustains an injury or shows symptoms requiring antibiotics. In such cases, the animal is typically moved to a hospital pen for further care and monitoring. Additionally, we follow a no-added-hormones policy, ensuring you “know what you eat” and can rest assured that our ethical production process upholds the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental responsibility.4. CRYOVAC® FROZEN AT ORIGIN
With load shedding being a reality in South Africa, we have no alternative but to employ the best- known protocols and practices to guarantee long-lasting freshness and impeccable taste. Our lambs undergo a 7-day dry aging process at controlled temperatures. Subsequently, they are packed and frozen using CRYOVAC® and 2nd Skin Packaging Technology. By utilising these technologies our lamb will continue to age and improve in flavour once defrosted. The freshness can be maintained for up to 7 days when refrigerated or up to 6 months when frozen.5. GREEN SELF-GENERATED ENERGY STORAGE
We utilise solar energy during the day and a combination of batteries, and generators at night to ensure that our cold storage maintains the desired temperature at all times.6. COLD CHAIN SECURE
Due to the significant number of Cold Chains in South Africa facing threats, particularly as a result of load shedding, we have no choice but to independently oversee the entire cold chain process, from slaughter to consumer, to ensure utmost food safety. Consequently, our products undergo continuous monitoring through cutting-edge temperature monitors, which are connected to the cloud.
